![]() ![]() We've visited several children's museums in the PA, DC and VA areas and they just don't compare. I would recommend any family with toddlers/ pre-schoolers visit. I noticed that the bad reviews were a year old or more so it seems to me Port Discovery has made more effort to offer more programs for little kids. The kids room was a lot of fun, though I agree it was a little small, but there were several other areas that was age appropriate for the children - the diner, the arts and craft area and a really cool farm area. We sang songs, danced and the story reader was very animated. We also took the girls to a story time - I was told they offer one every day for little ones - and they absolutely enjoyed it. We just recently visited Port Discovery with our three year old and her 4 year old cousin and we had a great time! We saw a performance by the Kindersinger who was throroughly entertaining and kept the kids' attention the whole time. ![]() Port Discovery is so much fun for little kids! After reading the other reviews, I was surprised that they weren't favorable. We didn’t use it as we had plenty of food with us, but I am sure that will be an added bonus and the grounds look beautiful. But prices were reasonable in the vending machines.Īlso, there is a bonus that kids eat free at the glass gazebo right next to Port Discovery if you present your Port Discovery ticket. Junk is plentiful and I almost wish it wasn’t in the lunch area at all because it’s hard to keep kids away from it. Staff just can’t keep up with the massive amount of children and rotations.Ĭon: no cafe, no real food. ![]() Two caretakers and no effort to stop her from doing that so sanitize hands after every room if you don’t want to pick something up here. There was a child licking every block in the quiet area and then throwing them around. I am confident this place is a concentration of germs so that helps. What I loved the most is that sanitizers were abundant. Free lockers and coat room in the snack area. Not nearly as grand as the Indianapolis Children’s Museum, but I think nothing can beat that ever. This was definitely a step up from the National Children’s Museum in DC. ![]()
